United Methodist Women

May the grace of
Christ our Savior
and the Father's
boundless love
with the Holy
Spirit's favor
rest upon us
from above.

Thus may we
abide in union
with each other
and the Lord
and Possess in
sweet communion
Joys which earth
cannot afford.

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission ministries of the church.

Each member of United Methodist Women participates in her own way; gives of time and money at her own discretion.

Who, then, are the United Methodist Women? They are persons who have a sense of commitment and concern for others, who seek to identify with a group of like-minded women in working together toward the realization of the PURPOSE for which this new organization is coming into being.

Local Units of UNITED METHODIST WOMEN (approximately 35,000) provide funds for mission and membership development locally, as well as in the districts, the conference and the jurisdictions. Additionally, through pledge-to-missions, they provide the budget with large appropriations to both World and National Divisions for the programs and projects which they administer on behalf of the Women's Division.
