United Methodist Pre-school

History:

The United Methodist Church took over the Sunnyside Pre-school Inc (which was operated by parents of students) around 1995.  The named was changed to United Methodist Pre-school.  Ms. Mary Schlenker has been the director since 1989. The preschool usually has around 60 students each year. So there has been approximately 1,000 students pass through over the years. The school year is from September to the first week of June.

United Methodist Pre-School is an educational, religious program for all children between the ages of three and five to help them to learn to love themselves and others because God loves them, to discover themselves and their Christian environment, regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, nationality, or ethnic origin.

The United Methodist Preschool exists as a financially independent outreach of the Sunnyside United Methodist Church.  Its primary purpose is to provide a safe environment for children ages 3-5 to prepare for kindergarten, and to develop an appreciation for the diversity of our community in terms of socio-economic, racial, and spiritual backgrounds.

If you would be interested in enrolling your 3, 4, or 5 year old, please call United Methodist Preschool at 509-839-4337 to be put on the waiting list.
